Learn about the ground-breaking work the Milky Way Laboratory and its collaborators are doing through this World Wide Telescope tour!
World Wide Telescope is a free and open-source platform showcasing a breadth of astronomical images for the public to enjoy and planetarium-like views of our night sky! First publicly demonstrated in 2008, the World Wide Telescope strives to “enhance and share humanity’s scientific understanding of the universe” (AAS). The platform is made to be used by astronomers, students, and the public alike for education, research, exploration, or entertainment. The unique tours of the World Wide Telescope guide their viewers to learn about new topics while utilizing the unique features of the application. One of the tours created by a recent graduate, Danya Alboslani, introduces different constellations in the night sky as well as gives insight into the Milky Way Laboratory’s exciting research areas.
